Revolutionary Bio-Engineered Trees
Context

The Oxygène Parc program leverages cutting-edge biotechnology to combat climate change and promote sustainable forestry. In collaboration with researchers at EPFL, bio-engineered Paulownia trees were developed to enhance carbon sequestration, especially in arid regions. These trees, modified to coexist with specific fungi, thrive with minimal water while significantly increasing their carbon dioxide absorption.

Mezyan’s Role: From Vision to Reality
Approach

Mezyan played a crucial role in turning this innovation into reality. From securing funding to overseeing implementation, we supported the research team in launching the first large-scale pilot in Morocco. This project not only demonstrates the potential of climate-adaptive agroforestry but also aligns with our mission to drive sustainable economic growth.

How it works

Using Mezyan made it easy to experiment with different approaches and build a tactical team in few weeks. Within months, we were building a production-ready site and monitoring our impact on local population.
